Katie is an engineer with a passion for making, learning, and helping others make and learn. Her career spans systems design and sustainability consulting in the built environment, curriculum design and producing for online creative education, and hands-on classroom teaching.
Outside of work, Katie explores human interaction with the built and natural environments through fiber and textile projects utilizing materials reclaimed from waste streams. She is interested in the intersection between crafting new uses for discarded materials and providing a critical lens through which to examine the nature of waste and its relationship to consumerism and the climate crisis.
